First rest day
So a while between drinks. Since my last post I have enjoyed some excellent poutine, some fantastic views and some tired legs!
I post this from a semi-forced rest day. I say semi-forced as my plan was to rest for a couple of days in Banff before continuing on, however as I got back from breakfast this morning and started backing the last of my thinks away I noticed I had a flat tire. Fine, it's fine. Fixed it and started loading up again and I realised I just could not be bothered with riding today. After 727km in 7 days (plus the 241 in the first week in Vancouver) my body was a bit tired. So I extended my stay in Golden and went for a walk.
So glad I did! Found a lovely butcher/deli that made me an awesome roll for lunch (so good I grabbed another one for the ride to Banff). I would highly recommend a visit, alas I can't remember the name of the shop. Its in the main street you can't miss it.
Poutine highlight! A little shop in Revelstoke called Nomads food co. The lady at the town info stand recommended it as a good place for soup. As soon as you walk in you can tell is all about burgers and chicken. I completely forgot about soup!
The chips where hand cut and great! 4.5/5
The gravy looked hand made and was awesome 5/5
The curds were nice! 4/5
Plus the view was up there with one of the best I've seen.
That's something that I have noticed alot this trip, I am constantly saying things like "Wow!", "Holy moly!" Etc. As I ride around a each bend in these mountains. It's a very new experience for me to be surrounded by these giants and it is an extremely impressive landscape.
